These little shot beakers are wheel-thrown and altered in Limoges porcelain. This exquisite refined clay offers a lustrous brightness to it’s accompanying slips and glazes. The porcelain itself often forms a glassy white finish when salt-glazed, or where it sheltered from the flame path it flashes with pink or peachy blushes. The beakers are rouletted with texture. This enjoyable process has the effect of softly triangulating the form, and in combination with the flared base provides a satisfying purchase and comfort in the user’s hand. Wood-fired to 1300*C. The pots are fired on refractory wadds, hence the quiet decorative halos to it’s base. This serves to elevate and separate the pots from the shelf to prevent it binding.
Please note, the 2 beakers illustrated here are sold as a pair, not individually.
