Description

Wood-fired salt-glaze, decorated with finger-wipes and scrafitto through porcelain slip under a willow ash glaze. Wheel-thrown black stoneware, fired to 1300C. This generous mug holds a copious cuppa, 350ml or a good half pint. The pot is fired on 3 seashells, hence the decorative halos to it’s base. This serves to elevate and separate the pot from the shelf to prevent it binding. The liner is the same ash-glaze colour as the outside.
